Pułk Kawalerii- first platoon done!

Yeah, so I'm new to blogging- this is probably going to be horribly formatted. At least the pictures look halfway decent.

Anyway, these are the first finished models in my third army for Flames of War. The list is a 'Pułk Kawalerii' or Early War Polish cavalry regiment, and I swear I'm going to finish this one. Even though it has a ridiculous number of figures compared to my Americans and Germans.

So the picture above is the 1st Company Commander, and the bugler which will accompany the Regiment HQ.

The 1st platoon, minus the anti-tank and bodyguard sections. Tbese miniatures are Forged in Battle, excellent quality and price. Unfortunately, although 15mm WW2 minis  are usually designed with the idea that they'll be used with Flames of War, this set doesnt come with enough minis to represent a full platoon. The extra minis will come from Battlefront, they don't really mesh that great but will be a fine placeholder until I get something that blends better.

More angles. I love the way their bases look. Gamer Grass ftw.

I will post more as i finish units- Dismounted Cavalry or Taczankas are probably next. I also an on doing posts on my other forces and non-FOW stuff. Stay tuned :

  1. Great start to your army Joel. Its always a pleasure to see miniatures finished and based. I'm looking forwards to what you do next. What are your thoughts on the Tczankas?

    1. they're a pain to put together, the back fenders in particular are cast in the wrong position and have to be 1) separated with hobby knife; 2) carefully re-positioned so the remaining metal doesn't crumble or snap; 3) reglued with scant surface area to support them. i did it without the quickset spray stuff but i wouldn't want to do it more than twice.

Your comment about the slovak heads has me thinking, i was going to convert PP's Russian tachankas but i wonder if they'll do a Polish kit if i ask nicely?
